Went to Kykuit with onsite this week, and get to go agaaaain next week

(unfortunately couldn't completely avoid some glare while taking a photo)

And onsite painting class begins! Trying to get as much in before the good weather disappears, which the way things have been going will probably be pretty soon. Not done yet, but when drawing in the woods you can't exactly pull an all-nighter. (and 22x30" is a lot when you're used to miniatures)

I have a bad habit of taking photographs as references for paintings which I never end up actually painting, (and some would argue using photographs at all is a bad habit, but there I have to disagree)
So here is a pen-sketch of one of those many unused photographs

Summer has made me want to disappear for a little, but i've only succeeded in doing so on here. So here, I'll begin to return with a random sketchbook page from today -- you know I spend too much time on my computer when I begin making self portraits while looking at myself in photobooth:
